Microsoft may change the Windows key's role after new Search reaches Start

Microsoft is weighing a new role for the Windows key once its redesigned Search experience arrives in the Start menu. Windows Shell lead Tali Roth said the company will account for users' muscle memory, with email actions among the options under consideration.

• The new WinUI 3 Search is separate from Start and lets users remove Bing results
• An Actions feature changes settings via phrases like "turn on Bluetooth"
• Microsoft has not confirmed the Windows key will open Search instead of Start
• Sending email through Outlook without launching the app is among the actions considered
