Walmart will let AI agents shop on its site

Agents connect through an Agent Gateway built on the Model Context Protocol and must follow Walmart's terms. Amazon, by contrast, blocks third-party AI shopping agents.

- Agents connect via an Agent Gateway built on the open MCP standard
- Agents cannot change payment methods or act beyond the shopper's intent
- Agent purchases appear separately in Agent Profiles and can be disabled anytime
