DE-CIX launches MCP server letting AI agents order network connections

DE-CIX released an open-source Model Context Protocol server in beta on October 15, 2026, letting AI agents search, procure, deploy and scale connectivity on its exchange via natural language. The release names no approval, confirmation or spending-limit step for booking actions.

• The server is built on the open IX-API standard and can run on engineers' own systems
• Of 8 named capabilities, 5 are order/write: book, scale, procure, deploy, manage
• ScriptMasterLabs test: a sentence-form procure-and-deploy auto-approved at 0.803
• In scope form the gate held the order line at 0.50 advisory
