GM gives OnStar an AI makeover with in-house assistant and new app

GM is rebuilding its OnStar subscription service around an in-house AI assistant that will debut in the 2027 Cadillac Lyriq, followed by more vehicles. A new OnStar mobile app in 2027 will replace the Guardian app and the Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC brand apps, with connected cameras recording crashes and uploading clips.
