Huawei, Shaanxi Telecom deploy dual-band 32T32R FDD Massive MIMO on high-speed rail
Huawei and China Telecom's Shaanxi branch have completed commercial deployment of dual-band 32T32R FDD Massive MIMO on the Shaanxi sections of the Xu-Lan and Yinxi high-speed rail lines. The companies claim cell coverage extended by about 200 meters, average 5G uplink rose 24% and downlink rose over 50%.
- Runs on 1.8 GHz and 2.1 GHz simultaneously with 32 transmit and 32 receive paths
- Edge uplink rate up 95% and edge downlink rate up over 100%, per company figures
- Adaptive beams counter Doppler shift at train speeds of up to 350 km/h
- Called China's first commercial FDD Massive MIMO deployment on high-speed rail
