Epic's 46% Faster Than Steam Claim Excludes Three Slowest Test PCs

Epic says its redesigned launcher opens the Store in 5.47 seconds versus Steam's 10.07, but a footnote on its Preview site states the average excludes the three lowest-end of 13 test machines. The announcement post never names Steam in prose, and the testing was commissioned and paid for by Epic.

• Cold start to Store: 5.47 s for Epic versus 10.07 s for Steam
• Average covers 10 of 13 PCs, dropping the three slowest machines
• Tray-to-Library restore: 0.36 s versus 0.42 s, a 0.06 s gap
• Keywords Studios ran the tests for Epic; no raw data published
