NASA's SPHEREx probes atmospheres of 37 brown dwarfs
Astronomers used NASA's SPHEREx space telescope to capture spectra of 37 nearby brown dwarfs across 102 wavelengths, from deep red to infrared. Their atmospheres contain water, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and methane, with temperatures ranging from 2,200 to minus 20 °C.
