Claude Code adds idle compaction, Codex restores Daybreak by default

Claude Code 2.1.299–2.1.302 now auto-compacts conversations over 200K tokens left idle for about 54 minutes, before the one-hour prompt cache expires. Codex 0.163.0 re-enabled Daybreak by default for eligible accounts, reversing v0.161.0, while Gemini CLI v0.64.0 ships fixes only.
