MeshXFS: AI-written clustered file system built on XFS
MeshXFS 0.90.130 is an open-source fork of XFS from the Linux 6.19 tree that lets multiple Linux servers mount and write to one shared disk. Its clustering code was written by AI agents, mainly Claude Opus in Claude Code, with no line-by-line human review; the xfs/ tree grew from about 226,000 to 314,000 lines.
- Clustering code was written by AI agents; humans set requirements and tested
- Cluster sizes of 2, 4, 8 and 16 nodes released; 32 nodes implemented but unreleased
- NVMe and NVMe-oF unsupported; Fibre Channel and SAS unverified
- Repository lists 123 open defects, 69 of which reach released configurations
