Karpathy proposes LLM Wiki pattern for self-managing knowledge bases

In April 2026 Andrej Karpathy published a GitHub Gist describing the LLM Wiki pattern: an AI agent compiles immutable raw sources into a structured Markdown wiki instead of re-retrieving chunks RAG-style. The gist passed 5,000 stars, and Karpathy's own research wiki grew to about 100 articles and over 400,000 words.
