ServiceNow Gives Enterprise AI Agents Cryptographic Passports Enforced at Runtime
ServiceNow launched AI Passport, cryptographically signed credentials that define what an enterprise AI agent is, what it can do, which systems it may touch, and who is accountable. Permissions are checked and enforced every time the agent acts, not just at deployment. Nvidia is a design partner, linking the passport to its Open Agent Safety Platform.
- AI Passport enforces permissions at the transaction, not at setup
- In a demo, an $18 refund ran automatically while a $40 request was rejected
- Open specifications let third-party agents and identity providers issue and verify credentials
- Nvidia tied the passport to OpenShell and Sentry for infrastructure-level enforcement
