Apple details requirements and cost of four-HomePod surround setup

Apple's new surround mode uses two HomePods beside the TV and two behind the sofa, but requires the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K at $299. Only HomePod 2 and HomePod mini 2 are supported, with the cheapest all-new system costing $895; mini 2 ships October 30 and the new Apple TV 4K on November 13.
