Ethereum: "Bunker Mode" Against ECDSA Break, Atomic L1-to-L2 Transaction
The Ethereum Foundation is exploring native transaction assertions (EIP-7906) to prevent blind signing, Justin Drake urged preparing a "bunker mode" in case ECDSA breaks, and EEZ ran the first atomic mainnet-to-L2 transaction with 0.001 ETH. Frames-devnet-1 will add EIP-8250, EIP-8272 and EIP-7906, targeting launch around October 15.
- EIP-7906 adds a read-only POST_TX frame and three opcodes to verify transaction outcomes
- Drake proposes migrating funds to addresses with hashed public keys
- EEZ executed an atomic mainnet-to-L2 transaction of 0.001 ETH without bridges
- Frames-devnet-1 with EIP-8250, EIP-8272 and EIP-7906 is expected around October 15
