EIP-8411 cuts simulated Ethereum block propagation to under one second
Ethereum researchers reported that EIP-8411, a segmented broadcasting design, cut median propagation of a simulated 1 MiB execution payload from about five seconds to under one. Glamsterdam also cleared a rehearsal at a 200 million gas limit, while Base and Ethereum confirmed they will ship separate native account abstraction standards.
- EIP-8411 splits payloads into segments with Merkle proofs for parallel verification
- Simulation: 500 nodes, real Prysm and libp2p code, propagation fell from 5s to under 1s
- Glamsterdam raised block gas limit from 60M to 200M; Nethermind processed 570.7B gas in 3m15s
- Base and Ethereum abandoned aligning EIP-8130 and EIP-8141, will ship separate AA standards
