World's first commercial green ammonia ship-to-ship bunkering completed

On October 13, 2026, off Zhoushan, China, 1,000 tons of certified green ammonia were transferred ship-to-ship as marine fuel to the 210,000-DWT bulk carrier Mineral Europa — a world first. The operation was run by CEEC, CMB.TECH and Jiangsu Andefu; CMB.TECH expects 21 ammonia-powered vessels by 2029.

• Mineral Europa is the first 210,000-DWT ammonia-powered bulk carrier, built by CSSC Qingdao Beihai
• WinGD X72DF-A engine keeps ammonia slip below 10 ppm and N₂O below 3 ppm
• Fuel came from the 800 MW Songyuan renewable project in Jilin Province
