World's first major ammonia-powered bulk carrier enters service for Australian iron ore

The 210,000-dwt, 300-meter Mineral Europa has begun its maiden voyage carrying iron ore from Western Australia's Pilbara region to China. The CMB.TECH vessel, chartered to Fortescue, runs on a dual-fuel ammonia engine; the company targets 21 ammonia-powered ships by 2029.
