Meta's Muse AI agent designed a crypto-specific RISC-V SoC for $2,000
A developer known as @bubbleboi used Meta's Muse AI agent to design a crypto-focused SoC on the RISC-V architecture, completing place-and-route in OpenROAD and generating the final GDS layout. The chip supports SHA-256/512, Keccak, Ed25519 and secp256k1, and the whole effort cost roughly $2,000 and about 100 million tokens.
- Chip runs at 100 million cycles per second with ~4.5 ns slack
- Passed DRC and RISC-V ACT plus 1.5M Berkeley TestFloat vectors
- Supports SHA-256/512, Keccak, Ed25519 and secp256k1
- Next step is porting the Thru blockchain onto the chip and tape out
