iOS 27 Messages adds custom location-sharing duration up to 30 days

In version 27 operating systems, Apple added the ability to share your location in Messages for a custom period ranging from 15 minutes to 30 days, replacing the fixed one-hour and one-day options. A new Hide My Location feature also lets users silently stop sharing without notifying the other person.

• Custom location sharing from 15 minutes to 30 days
• Hide My Location stops sharing silently without notifying others
• Ongoing sharing works via iMessage; pinned locations via SMS/MMS and RCS
• Location is determined by iPhone, Apple Watch or iPad and updates in real time
