Cisco unveils quantum network controller and compiler

At its Quantum Summit, Cisco showed prototypes of a Quantum Network Controller and a Network-Aware Quantum Compiler. The controller automates entanglement at machine speeds, while the compiler splits quantum circuits for distributed computing.

• Quantum Network Controller is a prototype control layer for quantum networks
• It exposes an Entanglement-as-a-Service API with fidelity and timing
• Network-Aware Quantum Compiler splits circuits between processors A and B
• Connecting 1,000 quantum nodes needs about 500,000 dedicated links
