Raytheon to upgrade US Navy SPY-6 radars with software to spot smaller targets
Raytheon won a contract from the US Office of Naval Research to develop software upgrades for the SPY-6 naval radar family. The new signal- and data-processing algorithms aim to extend detection range, boost sensitivity and speed up target classification. Work will run through 2031 at facilities in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and Andover, Massachusetts.
