Scientists make a 2D semiconductor magnetic with voltage control
Researchers from the National University of Singapore, with partners in Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Germany, introduced magnetism into a nonmagnetic 2D semiconductor and tuned it with an electrical voltage. The results, published in Science Advances, offer a platform for electrically controllable magnetism in atomically thin materials for spintronics.
