Ubitium raises $14M for universal processor for physical AI
Semiconductor startup Ubitium has raised $14 million in seed funding, bringing its total to $18 million since 2024, to build a reconfigurable processor for robots, drones and industrial machines. Its first chip, UB108, packs 256 processing elements on Samsung's 8nm node and runs signal processing, AI inference and real-time control on one array; the commercial UB410 with 4,096 elements is due to tape out in 2027.
- Round led by Ibex Investors with OpenOcean, KBC Focus Fund, Runa Capital
- UB108: 256 processing elements on Samsung 8nm, three functions on one array
- UB410: 4,096 elements, tape-out and evaluation units planned for 2027
- RISC-V architecture with unified memory replaces multiple specialized chips
