GlobalFoundries returns to advanced nodes with 7 nm-class FDX Fusion
GlobalFoundries unveiled FDX Fusion, an FD-SOI platform it claims delivers 7 nm-class characteristics and twice the transistor density of the first-generation 22FDX node. The technology targets ultra-low-power in-memory computing and embedded non-volatile memory such as eMRAM.
- FDX Fusion is positioned as a 7 nm-class node built on FD-SOI
- Transistor density is twice that of the first-generation 22FDX
- The platform supports in-memory computing and embedded eMRAM
- GlobalFoundries halted its 7 nm CMOS development in 2018
