Windows 11 Search Adds 5 Quick Actions Without Opening Settings

Microsoft is testing a redesigned Windows 11 Search that lets Insiders change settings and arrange windows straight from the taskbar. The feature rolled out on Oct. 7, 2026, only in the Experimental and Experimental (26H1) channels and only in English.

• Five actions: dark mode, Bluetooth, brightness, mute and window arrangement
• Search rebuilt on WinUI 3 with a single results list instead of a preview panel
• Start menu integration is planned for 2027
• No Intune or Group Policy controls announced for the inline actions
