UPI Hits Record 24.51 Billion Transactions in August, Growth Uneven

India's UPI payment system processed a record 24.51 billion transactions worth ₹29.82 trillion in August 2026. Volume grew 3.6% from July and 22% year-over-year, while average ticket size fell to ₹1,217. The number of participating banks rose to 752.
