Kees Cook adds kernel control-flow-integrity checking to GCC

At the 2026 GNU Tools Cauldron, Kees Cook presented changes to the GCC compiler suite adding forward-edge control-flow integrity (CFI) support for the Linux kernel. The mechanism prevents exploits that divert control flow from its intended paths.
