Ballard to supply 4.8 MW of fuel cells for Romania's hydrogen trains

Ballard Power Systems has won an order for 24 FCrail fuel cell modules rated at 200 kW each, totaling 4.8 MW, to power 12 Siemens Mireo Plus H hydrogen trains for Romania's Railway Reform Authority (ARF). Deliveries are scheduled for 2027–2028, with passenger service expected in 2029. It is the Mireo Plus H platform's first commercial rollout outside Germany and Eastern Europe's first hydrogen train fleet.
