Teledyne and NASA to advance air-independent hydrogen fuel cell to TRL 7
Teledyne Energy Systems will work with NASA under a Space Act Agreement to advance its Hydrogen Electrical Power System (HEPS) from TRL 5 to TRL 7. The air-independent fuel cell is designed to power lunar habitats and long-duration deep-space missions.
- HEPS generates electricity without relying on atmospheric air
- The project moves from TRL 5 to TRL 7 with a prototype in a space-relevant environment
- NASA Glenn and Johnson centers are involved
- Target applications include lunar habitats and long-duration missions
