Huawei to bring LogicFolding chips to more phones as Tau roadmap targets 5 GHz by 2031
Richard Yu said more Huawei phones will use LogicFolding chips built under the Tau Scaling Law, without naming models or a timeline. The roadmap cited in reports targets 3.1 GHz in 2026 and 5.0 GHz with over 400 million transistors per square millimeter by 2031.
- LogicFolding debuted in the tri-fold Mate XT 2
- Kirin 9050 Pro in Mate 90 covers Balong, ISP, MSP, Lingxi, Maleoon and NPU
- Mate 90 performance is 31% higher than the previous generation
- 2026 chips target 3.1 GHz, up from 2.75 GHz in Kirin 9030 Pro
