Percona CEO: don't use 'open weight' and 'open source' interchangeably
Speaking at Open Source Summit Europe in Prague, Percona CEO Peter Farkas argued that open-weight models are not open source, since they expose only training outputs without code or data. He warned that without a clear boundary 'open washing wins', as the OSI reopens debate on its 2024 Open Source AI Definition.
