U Mobile launches SIM-based phone number verification without SMS OTP

U Mobile has rolled out SIM-based Phone Number Verification (PNV) on its ULTRA5G network with Telenor Linx, letting apps confirm a user's number directly through the carrier network instead of SMS OTP. The service is available to developers via Google Firebase, completes verification in under two seconds and costs $0.075–$0.081 per successful check.
