TRAI mandates voice and SMS-only recharge plans with up to 30-day validity in India
India's TRAI has finalised the Telecom Consumer Protection (13th Amendment) Regulation, 2026, requiring Jio, Airtel, Vi and other operators to offer voice and SMS-only Special Tariff Vouchers with 30-day or shorter validity. Operators must also provide at least one longer-validity voice and SMS pack, with renewals on the same date each month.
