Nvidia bets on physical AI with Halos safety system for robots
Nvidia expanded its Halos safety platform to robotics, combining the IGX Thor module with a dedicated safety processor, the Halos OS and the Holoscan Sensor Bridge. Agility Robotics and Boston Dynamics are early adopters, as physical AI already drives nearly $10 billion in annual revenue for Nvidia.
- Halos for Robotics launched in June 2026 for warehouses, humanoids and surgical robots
- IGX Thor module includes a separate processor for functional safety workloads
- Agility Robotics first to embed Halos in its Digit 5 humanoid without external sensors
- Boston Dynamics uses Halos for Spot, Stretch and Atlas, with Hyundai factory deployment by 2028
