Developer builds free Adobe clones using AI after cancellation fee frustration

Developer Brandon Thomas launched Artcraft, a suite of seven open-source, free apps replicating Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, After Effects, InDesign and Acrobat Pro. Built in Rust with Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5, the tools require no subscription, and Thomas claims full parity with Adobe within a month.
