Brazil pilots palm vein biometrics at Paraguay border bridge
Brazil's Federal Revenue Service launched a palm vein biometrics pilot for pedestrians at the Friendship Bridge customs checkpoint in Foz do Iguaçu on the Paraguay border. Scans take under half a second and are not yet linked to the CPF tax registry. Testing ends October 31, after which results will shape the 2026–2028 Smart Border project.
