ECOWAS pushes biometric ID toward region-wide border acceptance by December 2026
ECOWAS is working toward mutual recognition of its common biometric ID card, ENBIC, at air, land and sea borders by December 2026. Awareness campaigns have launched in Ghana and Nigeria, and seven member states already issue the card, including Senegal, Ghana, Benin and Nigeria.
