Login.gov starts accepting mobile driver's licenses for identity verification

GSA announced that Login.gov now accepts eligible mobile driver's licenses (mDLs) from Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet for remote identity proofing. Cryptographic verification is meant to counter AI deepfakes and counterfeit documents. As of March, mDLs were available in 20 states and one U.S. territory, covering about 71.5 million drivers.
