Openreach taps Ciena for 1.6Tbps WaveLogic 6 technology

UK operator Openreach has deployed Ciena's Waveserver 1.6Tbps coherent technology into its Optical Spectrum Extended Access (OSEA) portfolio, underpinned by WaveLogic 6. The solution carries 400G and 800G client traffic over dedicated 1.6Tbps wavelengths and introduces national 800G services for the first time.
