Rheinmetall and Breaker Demo Voice-Commanded Swarm of 100 Drones on Boxer
At Land Forces 2026 in Perth, Rheinmetall Defence Australia and startup Breaker signed a teaming agreement: Breaker's Avalon platform lets a single Boxer CRV crew member command a swarm of up to 100 autonomous air, land and sea systems by voice over the vehicle's standard headset. Training took under 30 minutes and integration about six months.
- Avalon is software-only, running on the Boxer's existing edge compute with no cloud or new hardware
- One operator controls up to 100 systems via a leader-follower swarm architecture
- The system is DDIL-resilient: agents keep executing missions autonomously when comms degrade
- Integration took roughly six months, from first talks to a working Boxer CRV demo
