Vercel unveils Scriptc: TypeScript-to-native compiler with no JS engine

Vercel has released Scriptc, a compiler that turns TypeScript directly into native executables for macOS, Linux and Windows without Node.js, V8 or any other JS runtime. Benchmarks show cold starts dropping from 180 ms with ts-node to 15 ms, with a 3 MB binary versus 12 MB for a bundled Node build.
