OpenAI and Synopsys to build GPT-Synopsys for chip design

OpenAI and Synopsys signed a multiyear deal to build GPT-Synopsys, a model trained to operate Synopsys EDA software for chip design. It will run on OpenAI-hosted servers and be sold as one service bundling compute, the model and Synopsys licenses; pricing and launch date were not disclosed. Synopsys stock closed 4.77% higher on September 30.
