AI chip design faces patent infringement risks as autonomous tools spread

AI agents are increasingly designing chips: Synopsys launched AgentEngineer with 50+ customer engagements, Cognichip offers its ACI platform, Empyrean cut one layout task from four weeks to one, and OpenAI and Broadcom taped out the Jalapeño chip in nine months.
