Pi ships MCP support via Codemode sandbox
Pi, the minimal coding agent that long refused MCP, released v0.99.0 with native Model Context Protocol support. Instead of preloading every tool schema into context, Pi uses Codemode: the model writes JavaScript in a QuickJS sandbox and only the result returns to context. Perplexity reported three MCP servers consumed 143,000 of its 200,000-token window — a 72% tax.
