World's tallest wind turbine reaches 1,197 feet in Germany
GICON's pilot turbine in Schipkau, eastern Germany, has reached 365 meters (1,197 feet) with blades, making it Germany's second-tallest structure. It has a rated capacity of 3.8 MW, with future versions planned above 7 MW, and could generate roughly twice the electricity of a conventional turbine with the same rotor diameter. Official commissioning is planned for November.
