Tesla adds Emergency Drive Away to break free from Superchargers
Tesla rolled out Emergency Drive Away in update 2026.38.3, letting U.S. drivers shift into Drive while still plugged into a Supercharger. Activating it snaps the connector from the charge port, damaging both the car and the stall, with stall repairs costing up to $25,000.
