Korean Makers Scale Up Sodium-Ion Battery Production

LG Energy Solution has built a 200 MWh sodium-ion pilot line in Nanjing and a mother line in Ochang, aiming to ship samples to US ESS customers in 2026. Samsung SDI is developing sodium-ion UPS and power ESS products. China's CATL has already secured a 60 GWh supply contract and will begin global shipments in June.
