Texas Gas Plant Creates ESS Opportunity for Korean Battery Makers

The first project under the U.S. strategic investment plan involves a 6.3-GW combined-cycle gas plant in Encinal, Texas, worth about 30 trillion won ($22.1 billion), to power nearby AI data centers with a combined 5 GW capacity. Battery energy storage systems (BESS) will be deployed alongside gas generation, opening a new market for South Korea's battery makers.
