Korea Targets Battery Leadership With Sodium, Solid-State
South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy unveiled a Battery Industrial Technology Roadmap focused on sodium and solid-state batteries to regain market leadership from China. The government will fund about 400 billion won ($308 million) in R&D from 2027 to 2031, while companies plan roughly 8 trillion won ($6.15 billion) in investment by 2030.
