Travel industry forms coalition to push 'Responsible Biometrics' rules in EU
Idemia Public Security, Amadeus, SITA, ACI Europe and IATA launched the Responsible Biometrics Travel Industry Coalition. The group urges the EU's Digital Omnibus to keep consent as the legal basis for biometrics, maintain technology-neutral rules and preserve passenger choice; IATA's 2025 survey found 74% of travellers would share biometric data instead of a passport.
