Windows 11 26H2: Microsoft grades its six-month reset

Microsoft has released the Windows 11 26H2 update, wrapping up the overhaul it promised in March. Search earned an A-, Copilot was pulled out of Notepad and Snipping Tool, but the Start menu still lags and performance on 8GB PCs remains a work in progress.

• The 26H2 update rolls up changes previously delivered via monthly Patch Tuesday releases
• Search across the taskbar, File Explorer and Settings is faster and clearer
• Copilot icons were removed from Notepad, Photos and Snipping Tool
• The taskbar can now be moved and resized
